Philadelphia Dance Theatre Presents The Nutcracker, Montgomery County Community College, Blue Bell
Philadelphia Dance Theatre has been bringing The Nutcracker to life each winter since 1999. In 2011, they debuted A Philadelphia Nutcracker—a reimagined version set in Victorian-era Northwest Philadelphia. With choreography by Joy Delaney-Capponi and scenic design by local artist Christopher Fox, this unique production features iconic locations from Germantown, Mt. Airy, and Chestnut Hill. Clara’s journey begins at a festive party in the historic Thomas Mansion, glides through the snowy slopes of “Tommy’s Hill,” and ends in a magical Kingdom of Sweets inspired by Germantown Avenue shops. Full of local flavor and timeless charm, A Philadelphia Nutcracker is a heartwarming holiday tradition for the whole family.
