Bartram’s Garden is a the oldest botanical garden in America located in southwest Philadelphia. This 45-acre National Historic Landmark is operated by the John Bartram Association in cooperation with Philadelphia Parks and Recreatio and serves as a destination, an outdoor classroom, living laboratory, and membership organization for expanding audiences. Admission to the Garden is free, and the grounds are open year-round except on city-observed holidays. Volunteers are needed to assist the staff at Bartram’s Gardens with seasonal gardening. Volunteers will help weed, plant, clean, prune as well as provide light maintenance throughout their grounds. Volunteers are asked to dress for working outdoors and bring gardening gloves and a water bottle if possible. Under 18 must be with an adult.
