Radnor Wayne Little League – Softball

RWLL’s Girls Softball program is for girls in grades K and up. Placement in divisions is generally based on age – such as 6u (age 6 & under) 6u Program (TeeBall) The 6 years old and under program focuses on learning the fundamentals of the game of softball, throwing, catching, and hitting. These fundamentals are taught during weekday practices and emphasized during Saturday scrimmages. Hitting is done off of a tee, so the girls can learn proper swing mechanics. Teams are put together by the 6u Commissioner and will be community based, not school based. Commissioner will attempt to put 3 or 4 girls from each school on a team. The 8 year old and under program builds upon the fundamentals learned in the 6u program and begins to stress the team and game dynamics. Players hit from either of coach pitch and tee work. Girls pitching is introduced during practices, but may or may not be introduced during the games. Teams are put together by the 8u Commissioner and will be community based, not school based. Commissioner will attempt to put 3 or 4 girls from each school on a team. The 10 year old and under program puts the girls into competitive plays. Scores and records are kept. There will be playoffs and a championship. Girls pitch in games. All star team(s) may be selected to participate in the national little league tournament. Teams are created by the coaches during a draft.
