Flag Fest returns this summer! Celebrate Flag Week and Philadelphia’s historic tradition of flag-making during the 17th annual Flag Fest at the Betsy Ross House! This weeklong event will highlight flag makers past and present and invites guests to try their hands as flag makers!
The Father of our Country, George Washington, himself, will kick off the week on Sunday, June 9.
Meet A Flag Maker June 10 – 14 from 11am – 3pm.
June 10 – 14 from 3 – 4pm, Curator’s Corner gives you an up-close look at some unique objects from the House’s collection.
Meet modern day flag makers from the Defense Logistics Agency who embroider Presidential flags right here in Philadelphia on Friday, June 14.
Also on Flag Day, June 14, the House hosts its annual Naturalization Ceremony, welcoming 13 new citizens featuring a concert of patriotic tunes by the U.S. Army Brass Quintet.
The week culminates with A Celebration of American Music featuring the Philadelphia Heritage Chorale directed by J. Donald Dumpson at 3 p.m. on June 15.
