What animals are active in the park at night? How do they find their way in the dark? Can we find our way in the dark? In this special program for families, we will explore the nighttime environment of the park, learning about dark adaptations (ours and the animals’) and looking for nocturnal animals.
Registration is required for this activity. Please register each person attending. Spaces are limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis. See website to register
This program is most appropriate for children ages 6-12 and their grownups, though younger children are welcome if they can sit quietly and manage a short hike, and older children are welcome if they can tolerate a bit of silliness! All children must be accompanied by an adult guardian, though we will be splitting up (while remaining in view) for some activities.
Please wear sturdy shoes and bring water and a flashlight or headlamp.
