The Burpee Open at Fordhook Farm is back!
Fordhook Farm is where we breed and trial plants in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Purchased by founder W. Atlee Burpee in 1888, the historic property isn’t always open to the public, and we can’t wait to show you around.
The Burpee Open dates back to the 1800’s! It was an annual tradition to open the grounds of Fordhook Farm to the public for a “Farmer’s Picnic.” It is said that more than 500 guests came from the surrounding towns and villages in Bucks County, PA to explore the farm and meet the Burpee master gardeners.
